Lakers Have THREE Doubts Over Trade For Carmelo Anthony, One Player Safe

There is still huge doubt regarding the Los Angeles Lakers’ chances of getting Carmelo Anthony before the Feb. 7 trade deadline. The team is not willing to give up on any star, and there is a major concern regarding Carmelo’s fitness and performance.

Sam Amick of The Athletic said that, and he is even convinced that even if the Lakers make a deal with the Houston Rockets, they will not part ways with Ivica Zubac. Is Carmelo Anthony going to LA?

Carmelo has not played in the league since early November. He appeared in just 10 games for the Rockets after the Atlanta Hawks waived him in July.

However, Carmelo did not have much luck with the Rockets, as he could not adjust to Mike D’Antoni’s team. The Rockets are trying to get a player in return for the former All-Star, and Amick is convinced that Melo has found a destination for him.

“According to two sources with knowledge of Anthony’s situation, the exiled 10-time All-Star who remains on the Houston Rockets roster has multiple options available and is expected to pick one before the Feb. 7 trade deadline. There is no clarity as to whether he would be traded in these scenarios or waived and subsequently signed, but there are strong signs that he will play in the NBA again.”

Make some room for Carmelo Anthony!

The Los Angeles Lakers will not have to give up on too many players. However, their roster is full, and someone will have to go.

However, Melo had a bad year with the Thunder. Some are concerned about his physical condition and performance.

“According to a Lakers source, the fact that the roster is full is not a small obstacle. Not only is it unclear how they would clear the roster spot to add Anthony, or if there’s a possible trade with the Rockets. But a source close to James said Anthony’s conditioning and the overall state of his game are considered key factors here in terms of convincing the Lakers to add the player who had the worst season of his career with the Thunder and wasn’t any better with the Rockets,” Amick wrote.
