Lonzo Ball And Lakers Trade Problem Claim Made By Former NBA General Manager

The Los Angeles Lakers may have problems to move on Lonzo Ball because of his father. That’s what an unnamed NBA general manager said. According to this person, LeBron James overshadowed Ball’s situation. Is this the beginning of the trade problem?

Lonzo Ball joined the team in round one of the 2017 NBA Draft. He enjoyed a reputation of being one of the brightest prospects in the world of basketball. He was active in all 47 games in the regular season as the Lakers went 25-22. The team is ninth in the Western Conference. Ball was said to leave the Lakers, because the team is trying to get another big name. However, this will only bring a trade problem.

“I’d also be a little cautious with LaVar,” the former general manager said. “LeBron has overshadowed this, but I would be seriously concerned about taking that on, even though I like the player.”

Trade problem on the go

Ball was gearing up for the game against the Golden State Warriors, but his MRI scan showed that he will not play for 4-6 weeks due to his ankle strain.

Brian Scalabrine said LeBron’s agent Rich Paul put head coach Luke Walton in a bad position.

“LeBron is a gift and a curse,” Scalabrine said. “When he’s playing, you’ve got to have him on your team. He’s one of the top five greatest players of all-time so there’s definitely a benefit of that for Luke Walton. The one thing that really stood out is that coaches have to answer questions about injuries every single day… For Rich Paul to come out and say those things. I’m paraphrasing obviously but, ‘We don’t care what anybody says, we gone do what we gone do’. I think those comments put Luke Walton in a really tough position because it’s basically saying to him, ‘Don’t comment on my client’.

“We saw it last year with Greg Popovich when they kept asking him about Kawhi Leonard and he finally said, ‘Go ask Kawhi’s people’. Do you think Luke Walton has that option? He doesn’t have the clout to say that. I’m saying those comments by Rich Paul have put Luke in a really bad way moving forward. If the media really like Luke they’d hook him up and not ask a question about LeBron’s injury, but I’m telling you the next time they have a presser and Luke is there and he has to answer questions it’s going to be a tough position for him to be in.”
