Magic Johnson Wants A Chance To ‘Convince’ Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant To Join LeBron In Free Agency

Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson wants more chance to get Kawhi Leonard or Kevin Durant on his team. He sure wants some of the big names that are about to hit free agency. That’s what ESPN’s Brian Windhorst says.

Leonard and Durant will become unrestricted free agents in the summer if they drop their 2019-2020 player options with their teams. Magic Johnson hopes for the best for his team.

The Lakers are always considered a nice free agent destination. They will try to get both stars at the beginning of the free agency period.

“I’ve been told Magic Wants a chance this summer to convince KD or Kawhi to come to the Lakers,” Windhorst said.

Kevin and Kawhi to hit free agency next summer

There is a huge chance that Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard will decline their player options because they can earn more on the open market. Both players have been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers for quite some time.

Kawhi is from California, and Durant is a really good friend with LeBron off the court. However, some rumors suggest that if Leonard leaves the Toronto Raptors, he may sign with the Clippers. He made sure we all know that the does not want to play in the shade of LeBron. The Clippers would love to sign Leonard, and will probably have cap space to give him a nice contract.

If LeBron and the Lakers are trying to win a championship, Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka will have to work extra hard to give LeBron at least one great player. Are they able to get one? Let’s wait and find out.

The Lakers struggle a lot without the king, and that’s their top concern at the moment. He has been dealing with his groin strain, and the Lakers cannot wait to have him back on the court.
