Report: Lakers Determined LeBron’s Status In Game Vs. Thunder

The Los Angeles Lakers have played too many games without LeBron James, and the team has now released an update on his status for the upcoming game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

LeBron’s agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports confirmed that the Lakers star will miss the game against the Thunder and the Houston Rockets due to his groin strain.

King James was re-evaluated on Wednesday, and the team announced he was cleared to return to practice next week.

“He’s getting re-evaluated again, I think, on the 16th,” Walton said prior to the re-evaluation. “So for me, I got a lot of other things that we’re trying to get done between now and then. We got a great medical staff. LeBron, as you know, he takes care of himself when it comes to seeing doctors and taking care of his body. So, as soon as he’s cleared and ready to go then we’ll get him back out there. But until then, we’ll continue to be patient with him.”

When asked if he will be cleared on 16th, Walton said, “Well, it all depends what that evaluation tells us. If he’s fully cleared, then yeah, then we try to get him out there on the court and play some basketball. If he’s not ready, then it can’t be the final hurdle. But like I said, we got so much other things we got to take care of that we’ll just wait until the 16th to hear about him.”

LeBron is not ready for the Thunder

“He didn’t do the up-and-down stuff, he did the half-court shooting and passing,” Walton said after shootaround. “I just know he seems to be in good spirits. He’s got another test tomorrow to get some more information on it. I think we’ll get good news back.”
