Report: LeBron Makes Huge Step Towards Return

LeBron James is getting closer to the return day. Head coach Luke Walton confirmed that his star player had began running with the team.

Lakers fans were put into panic mode after LeBron James strained his groin on Christmas Day. The Lakers were not really successful without him, and lost seven out of ten games. The team is not eighth in the Western Confernce.

King James was cleared to return to the court and get greater workload. The Lakers will make another announcement before their game against the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets.

However, head coach Luke Walton brought up some news about LeBron’s condition during Monday’s session.

“He got treatment and shots yesterday, he got treatment and shots today,” the head coach said. “I don’t know if he ran today.”

When asked if LeBron ran at all, Walton said: “Yeah. He tells me he feels good.”

LeBron James will be re-evaluated again

“He’s getting re-evaluated again, I think, on the 16th,” Walton said prior to Friday’s match. “So for me, I got a lot of other things that we’re trying to get done between now and then. We got a great medical staff. LeBron, as you know, he takes care of himself when it comes to seeing doctors and taking care of his body. So, as soon as he’s cleared and ready to go then we’ll get him back out there. But until then, we’ll continue to be patient with him.”

“Well, it all depends what that evaluation tells us,” the head coach said when asked if LeBron will be cleared on the 16th. “If he’s fully cleared, then yeah, then we try to get him out there on the court and play some basketball. If he’s not ready, then it can’t be the final hurdle. But like I said, we got so much other things we got to take care of that we’ll just wait until the 16th to hear about him.”
