Tom Brady Sought Out Patrick Mahomes After AFC Championship Win

The New England Patriots defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game, and quarterback Tom Brady sought out Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

We cannot really say much about the discussion Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes had. According to TB12, the conversation was “personal.” Brady went on WEEI Monday morning for his regular radio interview to talk about the conversation. We believe that Brady gave compliments to the young quarterback after their battle on the field.

Patrick Mahomes was great in the AFC Championship game

The young quarterback finished the big match completing 16 of his 31 passes for 295 yards and three touchdowns and three interceptions while taking the Chiefs to 31 points. The Patriots left his team to zero scores in the first half. Brady completed 30 of his 46 passes for 346 yards, and had one touchdown and two interceptions.

The Patriots will make their ninth Super Bowl appearance.

Let’s go back to Brady’s conversation with Mahomes. He told team officials that he wanted to see his young colleague, as reported by NBC Sports’ Peter King.

“I just went and saw him,” Brady said. “I mean, he’s feeling like you think he’d feel when you lose a game like this. It hurts. He’s a hell of a … I mean, what a great young player. So impressed with his poise, his leadership. He is spectacular.”

Mahomes will have other chances to play in the Super Bowl.

“You have to take in the hurt,” he said in his postgame press conference. “You have to accept that this hurts. It’s supposed to hurt. You put in work for this. You’re doing everything you can to get to the Super Bowl and to win it. For this opportunity to fall short, it’s going to hurt, and he told us to accept that. You have to go to through that, but at the same time, when you look back and then you come back and look at the bigger picture, you know you can build off this, use this feeling as motivation to go out and find ways to win next time.”
