Watch: Julian Edelman Getting His Beard Shaved On Elen Show For Incredible Purpose

Julian Edelman is almost unrecognizable without his beard. How do we know it? The New England Patriots receiver went on The Ellen Show, and that’s when it all happened. It was like magic.

Edelman brought the Lombardi Trophy and his beard with him. The Super Bowl LIII MVP spoke about his family, the big win and the award he was given.

The beard thing came along. Ellen dropped the offer, saying, “I’ll donate $10,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston if you let me shave the beard right now.” So she shaved his beard, and Edelman looked like a completely different person. But, he was ready for the big move.

“Eating is a nightmare. I have to shower after I eat. But you know, sometimes you have something good (grabs his beard), flavor saver.”

Ellen had the razor in her hand and was ready to hit the bushy thing. She did not do that before asking Edelman for any last words.

“I love you, beard. It’s been a hell of a year,” the receiver said.

Ellen did it in a minute. The bush was gone.

“I look like a different person,” Edelman said after the process. And Ellen responded: “You’re very handsome under all that stuff.”

The receiver talked about the MVP award and the role his family had in the process.

“Getting the MVP is kind of a win for me and my other team, and that’s my family. Getting to experience this with them, because they’ve been in my corner, they’ve kind of made me who I am,” he said. “My father was a tough, hard-nosed guy and pushed me to limits I never thought I could get to. And my mother, being the loving little lady that she is, I was never late to a practice, she was always there…I mean, I had a bag lunch until junior college. She took care of me for a long time. So this is like a full-family kind of win.”
