LeBron Opens Up About Phone Call He Received From Kyrie Irving

Kyrie Irving did not like the idea of playing in the shade of LeBron James, and requested a trade. He joined the Boston Celtics, and things took an awkward turn.

LeBron James left the Cleveland Cavaliers, too. But, that’s not the point. LeBron was the leader in Cleveland, and Kyrie Irving was frustrated about it. That’s why he moved on with another team. What happened next? Irving called LeBron to apologize for his behavior in Cleveland, citing all the problems he has as a player in a team made from inexperienced players.

Irving made a statement about his apology, but LeBron did not really say much about the call. That’s about to change, because LeBron revealed a few details about his phone conversation with his former teammate.

“I think I’ve always loved Kyrie, from before I met him, until when I became his teammate, to even now,”LeBron said. “So the phone call, more than for me, I think just to see his growth … It takes a real man and a real person – and a real person to understand who they are – to be able to call, or to do anything and be able to see their wrongdoings or believe they have some wrongdoings and then be able to come to grips with that and then be able to either apologize or say that, ‘At that point and time, I thought I was ready for something, but I really wasn’t.’

“… I really don’t want to talk about it too much, because it’s not for everybody. … I love Kyrie. I love everything about Kyrie.”

He is right about that one. LeBron and Irving went through some troubles, but they sure had some fun in Cleveland. LeBron remembers that, and Irving learned his mistake. That’s why LeBron loves him, and this man is serious about it.
