Anthony Davis Will Join LeBron James For Televised Interview

The Anthony Davis saga was never brought to an end, not after all the tampering issues that emerged in the past few weeks. Several teams accused the Los Angeles Lakers of breaking the NBA’s tampering rules. The league did not find any major violations, but the latest info will sure trigger a chaos. LeBron James hosts The Shop, and likes to talk about sports, pop culture and social issues. Well, guess who is next on his list of guests? Anthony Davis. The Pelicans player will have his interview with LeBron on March 1st.

We do not have much info about the interview, and cannot really tell when it was filmed. However, that does not change the fact that LeBron and his production company knew about the consequences. LeBron and Anthony are represented by Rich Paul, and we all know what that means. Having both players on different teams and on a same talk show could be viewed as a form of tampering. NBA’s rules are not really clear, and players cannot really tell how far their interaction could go.

Basketball teams are not allowed to contact players on other teams. This would not be the first interview LeBron had with a player from another team. He had one with Kevin Durant last year. Durant was not related to LeBron James and the Lakers at that time, but he was given a chance to become free agent a year earlier.

There are many hard cases of player-on-player tampering, and each of them went without discipline. Remember the time when Chris Paul demanded a trade to the Houston Rockets before the team was even able to call him? James Harden was the top force of the recruitment process.

The Pelicans and other teams will not like seeing Davis alongside LeBron, but they cannot change anything about it.
