Brian Flores Leaves The New England Patriots

Brian Flores parted ways with the New England Patriots, and is now living his dream.

The former New England Patriots linebackers coach is now head coach of the Miami Dolphins. The team introduced Brian Flores as their new head coach, and this happened in less than a day after Flores helped the Patriots win Super Bowl LIII.

Flores was interested in this position for quite some time, and decided that it was time for him to go somewhere else after helping the Patriots win.

“I’d say it has definitely been a whirlwind,” Flores said in his very first interview as a head coach of the Dolphins. “I am humbled, I’m very fortunate to be in this position, to have coached the group that I coached last night and to have been with the organization that I was with for the last 15 years. The Kraft family, Bill Belichick, they were incredible to me, and I am excited and honored to be the head coach of the Miami Dolphins.”

Brian Flores is happy to become a head coach

There are 32 NFL head coaching positions, and Flores put his hands on one. The Dolphins were his rivals for 15 years, but he had a special respect for the team.

“To be a head coach in this league is a dream come true,” said Flores. “To be head coach of the Miami Dolphins is a dream come true. This is a great organization with a great history, with a great fan base and I’m excited to be here.”

Flores became part of the Patriots family in 2004. He worked on several positions, and became even more interesting for other teams.

“I think all those experiences definitely helped me,” said Flores. “There’s no real area in the organization from a personnel, from the special teams, offense, defense standpoint that I don’t have some understanding and knowledge of. I think that works to my advantage.”

When asked about his leadership style, he said, “I would say it’s very demanding, I expect a lot out of my players, I expect a lot out of anyone who’s around me — players, coaches, video, nutrition you know what I mean? Everyone in the building. There’s a standard of excellence I believe you need in this game and I think everyone’s apart of it, from the owner to the GM to the head coach to the people who clean up at nighttime when we are all out of here, I think everybody’s apart of it. I’d like to create a team atmosphere, I want everyone to be respected. When people step in this building, I want everything to be about the team. We don’t point fingers, just thumbs, look at yourself first.”
