Lakers Missed Out These Two Trade Signings Because of Lonzo Ball Injury

The Los Angeles Lakers were about to seal a nice trade deal last month, but Lonzo Ball’s injury killed the deal as confirmed by latest reports.

The front office tried really hard to fix the roster and made six offers to get Anthony Davis. The New Orleans Pelicans did not accept that. But, nobody said a thing about the mysterious deal that disappeared at the final hour. On Smash reported that the Lakers planned to seal a trade deal with the Memphis Grizzlies for Marc Gasol and Mike Conley. Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma and other players were supposed to go in that direction. The deal was confirmed before the Lakers loss to the Houston Rockets, but Lonzo suffered an injury.

‘Everything on this deal was done except the final signature and player physical examinations on both sides,’ On Smash reported.

Magic Johnson added Lonzo and Kyle to the offer for the New Orleans Pelicans. This triggered an avalanche of reactions in Los Angeles as the young prospects were sort of devastated.

The injury was not the only problem

The good news is that they will continue playing with LeBron James at the Staples Center until the end of the season. LA did not have much luck in the past few games. Kuzma said that some of the young players struggled to ignore the rumors.

“It is what it is,” he said. “At the end of the day basketball is a business and we as professionals need to know that. We know that from being around this business and watching it for so many years. You just kind of know people get trade, people get put on the block and people are always in trade rumors. Like I have said before, that was our first time around and a lot of us let it get to us. But as professionals we can’t.”
