Lakers Projected Starting Lineup For Saturday’s Game Vs. Warriors

The Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors will face off for the third time on Saturday. However, once again the teams are unable to truly test their strengths due to a number of injuries. The first time they locked horns, the Warriors were missing DeMarcus Cousins, while the second time around the Lakers were playing with a bare-bones roster. Now, even though LeBron James is back on the court, Lonzo Ball is out and several Los Angeles players are banged up after a tough month. The team is far from full strength.

On the other side, the Warriors are fully loaded and have won nine of their past 10 games. The match will take place at Oracle Arena, and most of the Lakers roster is being discussed in a potential blockbuster trade for Anthony Davis. In other words, we are still not going to see the all-out clash between these two sides we’ve been waiting for. Here are the projected starting lineups for the two teams on Saturday.

  1. Rajon Rondo appeared to suffer a minor injury at the end of Thursday’s game, but for now, he looks ready for this one.
  2. Brandon Ingram has had a hot few weeks, with his shot-selection still questionable and his defense inconsistent. However, we were recently able to see flashes of his tremendous talent once again.
  3. LeBron James is back after a five-week absence, and it was definitely about time. His return changes the fortunes of the Lakers dramatically. Everyone will return to their old role and the rotation will settle into place.
  4. Kyle Kuzma missed two games due to a hip injury, but he is returning to the lineup. That gives the Lakers most of their old starting lineup back, with Ball as the only missing party.
  5. The Lakers have looked good when pairing Ivica Zubac and Rondo in limited minutes this year and they are hoping that translates to a larger scale tonight.
  6. Stephen Curry remains the best shooter in professional basketball and is discussed as the league MVP if he can stay healthy. That means trouble for the Lakers.
  7. Klay Thompson is another incredible shooter, as well as a strong defender across multiple positions.
  8. Kevin Durant is expected by many to leave the Warriors after the season, but for now, he is remarkably dangerous on both ends of the floor, and his battle with LeBron James could determine the winner of this game.
  9. Draymond Green is the No. 1 defensive forward in basketball and the Warriors will surely unleash him on all of the Lakers’ scoring forwards. Also, his trash-talking might bother the younger Lakers who would have to try to keep their cool.
  10. Since DeMarcus Cousins returned from his Achilles injury, he has been better on both ends of the floor than the team could have hoped, giving Golden State five true stars on their roster.
