LeBron James Causing Major Conflict As Lakers Push Hard For Anthony Davis Trade

LeBron James and his agent Rich Paul have pushed the New Orleans Pelicans into a corner, and they cannot bring any excuse to the table. Trading with the Lakers is their only choice now. So, yes, Anthony Davis will soon arrive in town.

That’s what Fox Sports’ Skip Bayless says. He had a few comments about LeBron’s effort to recruit Davis. Is he angry at LeBron James? The Lakers will have to make a decision before the trade deadline on February 7.

The Pelicans are yet to respond to the offers Magic Johnson presented.

“It does offend me that the King is trying to flex and just strong-arm his way to have AD in L.A.” Bayless said on Skip and Shannon. “It’s offensive to me, but I do love it for this reason: I don’t think LeBron could win with AD in L.A. I think AD is still over-rated. He’s not a take-over guy. I think he would be much better with LeBron but he’s a stats guy rather than a ‘W’ vs ‘L’ guy because he doesn’t put up big ‘Ws’.

“I don’t know that he would rise and shine in big playoff games alongside LeBron James. I would love it at trade deadline that they pulled it off – and I still think they will pull this off – because they have made it very clear to the Celtics, ‘no way are we signing long-term’. The Celtics believe, with all their hear and souls, they can convince Anthony Davis long-term to come to Boston because they won’t have to give up Jayson Tatum to trade for AD. With Kyrie, Jayson and AD they could dominate the East and they’ll be able to talk AD in to loving Boston and loving being in the Eastern Conference.

“No, no, no. Rich Paul will say no, no, no. LeBron will say no, no, no to that and they will eat it big time because he will never be happy in Boston. He’s made it very clear, L.A. or bust and it’s up to the Pelicans now to come to their senses at the deadline and take their pick of all the kids. I like Lonzo Ball and I think he could be the linchpin in this deal… if they could wind up with three or four of these kids on their roster, they’re going to be good enough to compete in the West. They should do the deal because they don’t have another out, that LeBron and Rich Paul have backed them into a corner, just the way that guy in San Antonio [Kawhi Leonard] last year backed the Spurs into a corner.”
