Los Angeles Lakers Reveal Plan B If They Can’t Get Anthony Davis

The Los Angeles Lakers are trying to land Anthony Davis, but the negotiations are stuck in the middle of nowhere. The trade talks are unsuccessful. The Lakers had the final offer for the New Orleans Pelicans, involving several young players and two draft picks. The Pelicans were not happy with the offer, and Magic Johnson took a step back. It seems like the Lakers actually have plan B in case their plan to get Davis does not work.

The NBA trade deadline is on Thursday afternoon, and teams have to make a decision before the whole thing is over. Will the Lakers get Anthony Davis? Los Angeles is waiting for any counteroffer from the Pelicans. Maybe the plan B will turn into action.

Magic Johnson’s deal offered Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, Ivica Zubac, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, as well as two first-round draft picks. The Pelicans did not like the deal, and Dell Demps said he wants more draft picks. The Lakers would negotiate again if the Pelicans have a counteroffer. The trade deadline is at 3 PM ET on February 7.

The plan B includes another All-star? Have any guesses? It will probably be Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Zach Lowe discussed the possibility that the Lakers try to get Thompson. Wojnarowski said the Lakers hope the Golden State does not offer Thompson a max contract. Thompson will hit free agency this summer, and the same will happen to other NBA stars.

The Lakers could really use Thompson as he is an excellent sharpshooter who knows how to put up points and knock down a three. LeBron James will get some help on the floor. Thompson averages 21.8 points, four rebounds, and two assists. He shoots at 46.5 percent field goal rate and hits 38.3 percent of the three-point shots.
