NBA Media Reacts To Lakers’ First Half Vs. Pelicans

The Los Angeles Lakers played strong against the Houston Rockets and eventually won the game. Now they are playing the New Orleans Pelicans, and the first half was crazy.

The teams will meet for the first time after the Anthony Davis saga. The Lakers could not give up on half team to meet the demands of the New Orleans Pelicans. So, Anthony stayed with his current team, and there was a possibility that he does not hit the floor tonight. Los Angeles got over the rumors about Davis and Magic Johnson, but the players are struggling at the moment. The first half says it all.

Los Angeles had to block any distraction and forget about the stories they had to deal with in the past few months. The team will not give up on the efforts to land Davis.

But, things did not really work well in the first half. The defense struggled for 24 minutes, and the NBA media was actually focused on that part of the game.

Julius Randle spent most of his career with the Lakers, but they decided not to re-sign him. These are the consequences.

Payton, Holiday, Williams, Randle and Okafor started for the Pelicans. Anthony Davis sat out the first half. Okafor is starting at center in this game.

“Lakers bring back an old favorite to get JaVale McGee the oop right from tip-off. Love the way Reggie Bullock sets screens, and he perfectly season Okafor out of the play,” Joey Ramirez tweeted.

The Lakers relies on this play a few times this season, and Lonzo Ball was used as passer. That’s what surprised the Pelicans this time.

Fans in New Orleans do not like LeBron. They even blame him for the eventual loss of Davis. Yes, the tampering thing.

The Pelicans lost the defense in Davis, and Okafor tried to take his place. However, he can’t protect the rim, and the Lakers used that.
