NFL Releases New Statement On Robert Kraft’s Allegations Of Soliciting Prostitution

The NFL will probably punish Patriots owner Robert Kraft after being charged with soliciting prostitution in Jupiter, Florida. If the league punishes the Patriots owner, this punishment would fall under NFL’s personal conduct policy. The NFL mentioned the policy in the latest statement.

“A new NFL statement on #Patriots owner Robert Kraft’s allegations of soliciting prostitution says the league is seeking ‘a full understanding of the facts” while not interfering with an ongoing investigation,'” Ian Rapoport tweeted.

Here’s what the NFL said in the latest statement:

“Our Personal Conduct Policy applies equally to everyone in the NFL. We will handle this allegation in the same way we would handle any issue under the Policy. We are seeking a full understanding of the facts, while ensuring that we do not interfere with an ongoing law enforcement investigation. We will take appropriate action as warranted based on the facts.”

The Personal Conduct Policy disapproves prostitution scandals

The league has some really strict rules that apply to both players and team owners.

“It is a privilege to be part of the National Football League. Everyone who is part of the league must refrain from ‘conduct detrimental to the integrity of and public confidence in’ the NFL,” the policy reads. “This includes owners, coaches, players, other team employees, game officials, and employees of the league office, NFL Films, NFL Network, or any other NFL business. Ownership and club or league management have traditionally been held to a higher standard and will be subject to more significant discipline when violations of the Personal Conduct Policy occur.

“Conduct by anyone in the league that is illegal, violent, dangerous, or irresponsible puts innocent victims at risk, damages the reputation of others in the game, and undercuts public respect and support for the NFL.”

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay was fined $500,000 and suspended six games in 2014 after being arrested on drug charges.
