Report: Los Angeles Lakers Trade Ivica Zubac To Rival

The Los Angeles Lakers made a really surprising move before the trade deadline, and parted ways with a talented young prospect. Anthony Davis is not on his way to LA, but Mike Muscala sure is. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Lakers have sent Ivica Zubac and Michael Beasley to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Mike Muscala has shot 36.5 percent from long range for his basketball career which gives the Lakers a whole different dimension at center. Ivica Zubac was an excellent offensive weapon for the Los Angeles Lakers when King James was out. However, LeBron returned to the team and his role was not as important as it used to be.

The Lakers used the chance to fix the roster and used the opportunity. This contract does not affect their offseason plans as Muscala’s salary will expire after the year.

Muscala spent some of the season playing with the Philadelphia 76ers before being added to the huge Tobias Harris trade with the Los Angeles Clippers. However, Jerry West was determined to refocus the team around the future game, and there was no room for Muscala. They decided to send him to the Lakers for a young talented player who may help then in the next few years.

Muscala spent most of his career with the Atlanta Hawks, and the Lakers are his third team.

Ivica Zubac has a nice chance

Zubac will have enough time to impress the Los Angeles Clippers. He will hit free agency in July, and the team can retain him without impacting their cap sheet a lot. According to latest reports, the Clippers may waive Marcin Gortat. After trading Boban Marjonovic, they will have to fill the hole behind Montrezl Harrell. Zubac will get real minutes on the floor playing for a team that needs scoring. Yes, he has a chance to show off and earn his spot.
