Report: Luke Walton is ‘Done’, LeBron James Knows Who He Wants As Replacement

Lakers head coach Luke Walton was caught in the middle of a huge chaos after the team lost many games. LeBron James was hurt, and the Lakers could not really cope with his absence. If you ask Stephen A. Smith, Walton will go in near future, and LeBron James has found a replacement for him.

“Luke Walton is done,” Smith said on ESPN’s First Take of Walton and his possible replacement. “I think this is going to be his last season in L.A. I don’t think it’s deserved. I’m not an advocate of Luke Walton being gone but I think everybody sees the writing on the wall. There’s just too much stuff going on. LeBron’s not going to say anything but everyone and their mother knows that LeBron James would prefer that Ty Lue was the new coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. That’s the name I’ve been hearing.

“I don’t think Magic Johnson will bring him on board. But I think if LeBron James and his camp had their way it would be Ty Lue.”

Walton, on the other hand, has no problems with his star player, and even said they have a nice relationship.

“I don’t know anything about that … LeBron and I get along just fine,” the head coach said.

The Lakers are not looking for a replacement

Sources close to the team say that the head coach is safe for now. But, will Magic Johnson keep him around if things stay like this?

“Nothing is going to happen with Luke,” the source told Brodrick Turner of the Los Angeles Times. “There hasn’t even been any talk about it and there won’t be any talks about it. Luke will definitely finish the season and he has the full support. So any talk in the media or on social media can be put to bed about Luke. He’s not going anywhere. There has been no conversation about it.”
