Watch: Ben Affleck Redecorates Son’s Room To Make Him Patriots Fan

Ben Affleck may be part of Hollywood, but he is proud of his Boston roots. What about his kids?

The Academy Award winning actor went on Jimmy Kimmel Live and talked about his pride. Ben Affleck talked about the Super Bowl, the Red Sox, and the World Series.

“On the way to the game I was kind of giving my kids a pep-talk,” Affleck said. “I was telling my six-year old we’re really excited because we’re from Boston and this is a big deal, the Red Sox, I’m giving him the whole history. And he listens to me and then he stops and goes, ‘Dad, you’re from Boston. I’m from L.A.'”

He was sort of bothered. “I had a full existential crisis,” Affleck told Kimmel. “I failed. I’m a bad father. This is a disaster. I don’t know what to do.”

Ben Affleck does not give up

The actor said that being a Boston sports fan is such a great thing. Kimmel said that maybe the kid wants to support the Lakers, Rams and Dodgers.

“Well, I was going to be an end to that,” Affleck answered. “Once my son started to tell me ‘I’m from L.A.’ … I know some guys — there are a lot of guys from Boston in L.A. to work in the trades, that kind of thing. I got the New England discount. I have some friends who are painters, carpenters do a little work in my son’s room to help him really understand where he comes from if not literally, that at least spiritually.”

So, Affleck decided to redecorate the boy’s room with murals, footballs and a Patriots helmet chair. He even sent a pic to Tom Brady.

“I did send of picture of that to Tom Brady,” Affleck said. “He was very nice. He sent my son a football and a jersey signed and everything.”
