Watch: World Champions Patriots Receive Heroic Welcome By Fans At Gillette Stadium

The Super Bowl champions arrived home wearing their Lombardi Trophy. The New England Patriots’ signature “Air Kraft” landed at T.F. Green Airport in Rhode Island right after 2 p.m. The champions were welcomed by a group of fans who were set right there, hoping to see their favorite players.

The team boarded nearby buses, and went straight to Gillette Stadium. Hundreds of fans were waiting for the buses. Devin McCourty could not hide his excitement as he was holding the Lombardi Trophy while making his way through the crowd. Fans were super excited to see the champions come back with the grand award.

“I’m so glad they stopped by, they came by with the trophy,” fan Sam Macasay said. “They went down the entire line there’s people around the corner, they made sure to go see the people all the way in the back.”

The Patriots joked about their plane, suggesting they need a new one. Well, some of them would be happy with a simple paint job. Yes, they were referring to the five Lombardi trophies that are added to the custom design of the plane. New England has won six trophies, so they will need to get that fixed.

Two of the champions went to Disney

The Patriots won the Super Bowl in Atlanta, and this is their second title in three years. Tom Brady and Julian Edelman did not join the team as they were at Disney World celebrating Jules’ Super Bowl MVP game.

Things did not go well in the game, as both teams wanted the trophy.

“Yeah, it was tough,” Brady said of the halftime score. “We just couldn’t make the big play, we just couldn’t stay on the field on third down. We just knew we had a whole half to go, defense set the tone. They held them, we got some good field position for them. They held them and finally we kind of broke through in the fourth quarter, we kind of needed that.”
