Watch: Brandon Bolden Had Priceless Reaction After Rejoining Patriots

The New England Patriots had some of their players and coaches head for Miami, but they definitely got at least one Dolphin in return. The comeback of Brandon Bolden was making headlines for quite some time, and Ian Rapoport was the first to report about his return.

“After a one-season hiatus, Brandon Bolden is returning to the #Patriots on a 2-year deal, source said. The core special teamer and RB spent last season with the #Dolphins,” Rapoport tweeted.

It seems like Bolden is pretty excited about rejoining the Patriots, and he even took to his Twitter and Instagram to express his excitement.

The Patriots released Bolden for the second time during their roster trimmings in September. The running back and core special-teamer didn’t return, and decided to ink a deal with Miami just three days later. He played in all 16 games with the Dolphins and had eight carries for 91 yards, three catches for 13 yards and scored three touchdowns.

The Patriots witnessed two of those trips to the end zone in December. Well, he is back again, and is now handling the same depth chart.

Running backs Sony Michel, Rex Burkhead and James White are under contracts. Jeremy Hill suffered a torn ACL during his Patriots debut, and is now an unrestricted free agent.

Bolden’s previous contract with the Patriots came along the minimum-salary benefit. The cap number of $720,000 checked in lower than the base salary of $790,000. Bolden had an extension with the Patriots last winter and it invluded a $30,000 offseason workout bonus and $170,000 in guarantees which helped him earn $880,000 in 2018.

The Patriots have signed a bunch of new players, and head coach Bill Belichick made some of the moves while tanning in Barbados. Well, he knows what he is doing. He has won six Super Bowl, and is off to his seventh.
