Kawhi Leonard Makes Final Decision on Lakers After Public Recruitment

LeBron James’ exchange with Kawhi Leonard fueled the fire about the possible trade, and people started talking about it. Lakers fans went crazy about the possibility that these two play on the same team this summer. But, will Leonard link up with LeBron?

Maurice Robb of Bleacher Report says that Leonard has already made a final decision, and he has plans for this summer. Is he going to Los Angeles?

No. Leonard won’t join King James and the Lakers, and he is more interested in inking a deal with the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Lakers have already seen the end of their season, and their top priority is signing a big star this summer. They are also careful about their players, because they don’t need another injury at the moment.

Last summer, Magic Johnson and the front office tried to trade for Leonard, but the Spurs’ asked for too much, Pelinka turned down the offer. This gave the team enough confidence to hope for a contract with the 2014 NBA Finals MVP.

The Toronto Raptors will probably try to re-sign him in the same way Paul George re-signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder last summer. But, too many teams will try to sign Leonard, and the Lakers don’t really have a chance.

“The three-time All-Star is a Los Angeles native, so naturally, there’s a lot of speculation that he will not only choose to go home but join up with King James on the Lakers,” Robb wrote.”Leonard and James would be a stellar team-up in the new era of NBA superteams, but the two-time Defensive Player of the Year is built differently.

“He seemingly has no desire to join James; he wants to beat him. That’s why the Clippers are favoured to land him with the cap space that they have.”
