Doc Rivers Hears Coaching Rumor About LA Lakers Star LeBron James

There have been so many rumors about Lakers star LeBron James, and Doc Rivers addressed some of them.

The Los Angeles Lakers signed LeBron to a four-year deal last offseason. This brought some hope to the Lakers fanbase, and many were convinced that LeBron would take the Lakers to the playoffs. Well, it didn’t work, and the Lakers will miss the playoffs this season. Some say that LeBron didn’t give his best, and other believe he doesn’t want to be coached. Is this somehow related to Doc Rivers?

The latest LeBron rumor suggest that Doc Rivers may come to town. He joined the Los Angeles Clippers from the Boston Celtics in 2013. Rivers won the 2008 NBA championship with the team.

The Lakers will miss the playoffs, and head coach Luke Walton is probably the first to go.

Rivers addressed the rumors before his team defeated the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday. And yes, it has been claimed that Rivers was told that the king doesn’t want to be coached.

During Tuesday’s episode of Pardon The Interruption, Michael Wilbon said, “There are people in southern California right now in that environment telling Doc he doesn’t wanna do this.

“And one of those reasons is simply, LeBron James.

“He’s been told by people — and I know this — LeBron doesn’t want to be coached.

“He’s never been coached by someone with that kind of personality, command, authority, acumen, intellect. He’s rejected that.

“So Doc is being reminded of that by people.”

Rivers said he has already accepted a contract extension with the Clippers owner Steve Ballmer.

“Let me end this,” Rivers said. “[Lakers president of basketball operations] Magic Johnson and I are very close friends but Steve Ballmer and I have a great relationship.

“I’m going nowhere. I’m going to be here for a long time.”
