Jerry West Releases Bombshell Statement About LeBron James

Jerry West knows everything about building strong basketball teams, and the Los Angeles Lakers are well aware of that.

Every Lakers fan knows that Jerry West was part of the front office for six championships, and was well engaged in the next four. Add in the one title as a player and you will realize that West had a role in every championship the Lakers won in LA. He is now focused on the Los Angeles Clippers, and won’t stop before turning them into champions. If you ask me, West is one of the greatest executives in the world of basketball.

Unfortunately, we can’t say that about Magic Johnson. West built his roster around Johnson, and was really successful. Johnson couldn’t do that and he paired LeBron with players that don’t fit his style.

The Lakers will miss the playoff this year, and there isn’t much chance that they sign another big player. West talked about LeBron James and the way execs should build a team around him. He appeared on Stephen A. Smith’s ESPN Radio Thursday, and Johnson didn’t do any of that.

LeBron James, the way he plays the game, he is most effective when he has the ball in his hands. That’s when he’s a genius, that’s when Earvin Johnson is a genius. And the thing is, they went out and tried to get some players that would compliment him, but along the way, some of these guys haven’t shot the ball real well, and as you’re well aware, the three-point line is so vital today. And if there’s any disappointment, to me, it’s watching them shoot the ball.”

You don’t have to be an expert to know that LeBron wins when paired with shooters. The Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers knew that.

A has max cap space, and the Lakers have to focus on signing another big name.
