Rob Gronkowski Makes First Public Appearance Since Retirement

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski made his very first public appearance after his decision to retire from the world of football.

Gronk appeared at the USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore’s 37th Annual Awards Dinner to accept an award.

The tight end took the stage to hold a speech, and it was a typical Gronk thing. The room was full of generals and Medal of Honor recipients, and Gronk shared a nice recap of the afternoon he spent in a visit of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

“I mean, I thought I went through a lot in my life,” Gronkowski said. “Today, I saw a troop who lost both of his legs tell me he wants to get the movement back in his legs and get prosthetics in, and get back out there and kill some mother——-.”

Gronk got a bunch of laughs, and the crowd approved his words.

“That’s what he told me!” Gronkowski told everyone in the room.

“We were at the general’s house today. They’re all from Boston. I just want to say, thank you for having us today. It was an unbelievable honor to, you know, see the house, to eat some nice grub with your family.”

Gronk didn’t mention his decision to retire. He received the USO-Metro’s Mertit Award. According to former Steelers quarterback and FOX Sports analyst Terry Bradshaw, this ward recognizes “individuals of outstanding creative talent who are dedicated to serving others through volunteerism, particularly for military.”

The now former Patriots tight end laid a wreath at Airlington National Cemetery and visited with Gen. Mark A. Milley and Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr., the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

It seems like Gronk also ran in to former White House press secretary Sean Spicer. We will always remember the time Gronk crashed one of his press briefings.
