Alex Rodriguez Reveal Tom Brady’s Career Plans On ESPN Broadcast

Alex Rodriguez sure got fans thinking after he made a few comments about Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

Rodriguez was part of ESPN’s broadcast of the Boston Red Sox’s Opening Day game against the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park. He spent a nice portion of the evening talking about the game and all the action players had. However, the most intriguing part came when he mentioned his former teammate, Ichiro Suzuki, who announced his decision to leave the Major League Baseball last week. Ichiro is 45. Rings a bell?

Tom Brady was an inevitable part of the discussion, and we all know why. Brady surprised fans with his comments last year. He said that retirement isn’t even an option, adding that his plans involve playing until he is 45.

Rodriguez threw out a TB12 nugget that sort of hinted at Brady’s career plans.

“When we were down with the Yankees, I had a chance to go to dinner with (Ichiro) and his wife in his home in Bellevue, (Wash.), and I’ve only had two people tell me they want to play to the age of 50: One was Tom Brady. The other one was Ichiro,” Rodriguez said. “And they both meant it.”

Hopefully, this was clear enough for pretty much everyone who talked about Brady and his possible retirement this season. Brady wasn’t joking when he said he would play a few more seasons. Ichiro did the same thing but retired at 45. Will the Patriots quarterback do the same thing?

Is Rodriguez right?

Brady will turn 42 in August. We know he is ready to pay until 45, but 50 is too much. That’s something Rodriguez said, and we believe him. Maybe Brady said something just to have a topic to talk about. Maybe this is just a broadcast comment and we shouldn’t pay much attention to it.

The quarterback won his sixth Lombardi Trophy, and there is no sign suggesting that he may retire in near future. Is 50 the new 45? The Patriots nation would love that to happen, but we can only wait for the next move Brady pulls out. Oh, he better stay on the field for a few more championship wins.
