Jason Kidd Drops Huge Hint About Replacing Luke Walton, Coaching LeBron James

Luke Walton will probably be eliminated from the team after the terrible season, and his potential replacement has just dropped a big hint. Jason Kidd, former coach of the Milwaukee Bucks, is a favorite when it comes to replacing Walton.

Kidd spoke on ESPN, and used the opportunity to say that he is interested in the job.

“I’m going to be patient in this process, but what Luke has done in L.A. with all the injuries and what’s gone on, he’s done an incredible job,” he said. “We’ll wait until the end of the season to see what jobs come about and hopefully there’s one that fits. If not, we’ll sit back and go around and maybe I can hang around with you guys on TV. When you look at the Lakers franchise as a whole, they’re one of the best in the world, not just in the NBA, but in the world.

“If you ever get the opportunity to wear the purple and gold, you can’t turn that down as a player. They’re all about championships, they had a young team and then LeBron comes and speeds up things. He wants to win now, but it takes time. Again, Luke was doing a great job of coaching those guys in the first year. When you’re talking about coaching the best guy in the world, you’re always going to say yes. As a coach or as a team-mate, he’s always going to make you better because you’re going to work as a coach to be on point, and as a team-mate you have to work hard because you know he’s going to need you to make that shot or make that play. So that would be a great honour to coach any elite basketball player. I’ve had that opportunity in Giannis [Antetokounmpo], and hopefully in the future I’ll coach another star.”
