Kobe Bryant Gives LeBron James Valuable Advice Amid Lakers Struggles

The Los Angeles Lakers are playing their worst basketball at the moment despite the presence of LeBron James. LeBron was given minutes restriction and head coach Luke Walton will probably rest LeBron for the remainder of the season. Now we have Kobe Bryant suggesting that LeBron should “keep pushing” despite the terrible first year in Los Angeles.

Kobe Bryant sat down with ESPN’s Mike Greenberg on Wednesday’s edition of Get Up and discussed the Lakers campaign. He also spoke about LeBron, Magic Johnson and the rest of the team.

“You just gotta keep pushing,” Bryant said advised LeBron. “Seasons like this are what make the championships worth it.”

When asked about the president of basketball operation, Bryant said, “It’s just a matter of being patient. Obviously they’ll make smart decisions. You have opportunities, things, pieces that you can trade, assets of that sort, or you can stay with the young guys who are extremely talented and have great upside and let them develop. Either direction you go should be a good direction.”

The Lakers are 31-40 at this point of the season and will soon leave the postseason contention. They were part of the playoff race, but LeBron’s groin injury sealed their destiny. He missed 18 games due to the terrible injury, and the young core failed to keep up with the teams they confronted.

LeBron joined LA last year and signed a four-year contract worth $153.3 million. Bryant was the one who told Jeanie Buss to land LeBron.

According to the Lakers legend, the players had too many injuries, and that was their bad luck.

“When they were rolling, I mean, they were playing very well, I think exceeding people’s expectations,” he said. “But then they got hit with all these injuries. Kind of set ’em back, knocked them off-kilter a little bit. It’s hard to reboot that, and so now they get caught in that rut. But next year should be better.”
