Lakers Players Were Reportedly Unhappy With LeBron James

The Los Angeles Lakers had a miserable season despite their hopes to make the playoffs this year. Signing LeBron James brought hope to the front office and the players, and the fanbase was convinced that the Lakers would become contenders. But, things weren’t as bright as they seemed at the beginning. It turns out that Lakers players weren’t really pleased with LeBron’s action.

It’s not like the players weren’t amazed with LeBron. It’s just some of the things he was doing led to a meeting, and the young core practically called LeBron out.

This was more than a failed season for LA. They won’t make the playoffs for the sixth consecutive year. LeBron won’t make the playoffs for the first time since 2005. He has has 13-straight playoff appearances, but this season was awful.

Too many people pointed their finger at LeBron, including some of his younger teammates. This changes everything.

On February 24, Rajon Rondo called for a team meeting in Memphis. The meeting came right after the loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, as reported by ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. LeBron was into the spotlight on that day, and his younger teammates questioned his inconsistent body language throughout the season. The king admits to being guilty of “slumped shoulders and sideways glances” throughout his professional career. LeBron has tried to cut that out.

Well, that changed, and LeBron was more involved with his team in the game against the Memphis Grizzlies. They lost the match, but LeBron even hugged his teammates and was vocal on defense. That’s how a leader acts.

“The meeting in Memphis was a retort of sorts,” McMenamin reported. “In what became an open forum, several players spoke up. Players focused on James’ inconsistent body language throughout the year. The four-time MVP copped to the critique, telling his teammates that, in essence, cutting out behavior like slumped shoulders and sideways glances has been something he has tried to work on his entire career.”

Trade rumors damaged the chemistry in Los Angeles. The young players on the team heard a lot about Anthony Davis and his possible arrival. It didn’t happen, but the rumors were terrible.
