Lakers Re-Sign Fan Favorite With Final Roster Spot

The Los Angeles Lakers are ready to do whatever pops in their mind in order to minimize the damage this season. They signed LeBron James to improve things, but their plan didn’t work. Their latest move doesn’t come as a surprise, and it involves a fan favorite.

The Lakers are landing Andre Ingram for a 10-day contract, and Shams Charania was the first to report the news. Ingram is a fan favorite, and he was brilliant last season. The player had his NBA debut at 32, and that’s the most unusual part about his signing. Most rookies are younger than him. Ingram was undrafted out of American University before spending a long time in the NBA’s Development League. He kept trying , and the Lakers decided to give him a chance.

It was a nice shot. Ingram had 19 points in his debut, and made six of his eight field goal attempts. He also had four three-pointers in the loss to the Houston Rockets. The next game was not as good as his debut. He went two-of-nine from the field for five points in the game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Ingram hasn’t returned to the NBA since.

Ingram spent the season playing for the South Bay Lakers in the G-League. The 32-year-old was overshadowed by some of the players who were brilliant for the NBA’s Lakers. Alex Caruso, moe Wagner, Johnathan Williams and Isac Bonca were important of the team, and Ingram was given a smaller role. He averaged under nine points per match. The player started 13 of 35 games for the South Bay Lakers, and was not really spectacular in his supporting role.

Los Angeles does not have much to lose by adding them. The team has an empty roster spot. They sent Ivica Zubac and Michael Beasley away, and got Mike Muscala.
