Luke Walton Addresses About Possibilities Of Shutting LeBron James Down For Rest Of The Season

Lakers head coach Luke Walton addressed the possibility to have LeBron James out of the floor for the rest of the season.

“We’re a much better team when he’s on the floor,” Walton said. “So I’m looking forward to him getting back out there again.”

LeBron missed Tuesday’s matchup due to a sore left groin. He has already missed too many games due to a groin strain.

When it comes to his minutes restriction, LeBron said, “It’s challenging for me mentally because I’m so accustomed to being out on the floor, especially when I’m healthy. You know, but it’s a conversation between myself and my trainer and the coaching staff and the front office, and this is the direction that they wanted to go the remainder of the season given the lack of success we’ve had with our ballclub. So I trust the people in charge, and that’s what it is.”

“I don’t think it changes,” LeBron said when asked if the team’s score affects their ability to sign a free agent. “I think everybody knew that coming into this year it was still going to be challenging no matter if we were all healthy and we played all 82 games. I think, obviously, myself being out five weeks, Rondo being out five weeks, B.I. being out for the remainder of the season, early suspensions, Zo being out for the remainder of the season, Kuz being out, JaVale had pneumonia at one point and it’s taken a toll on our team.

“We’re a team that was built on depth and when you continue to have injuries and things of that nature, your depth is not what you’d like it to be, obviously, and it’s hard on our ball club. We have an opportunity to get better this summer through free agency and also through the draft and I believe our front office and our coaching staff will make that happen.”
