New England Patriots To Unite Another Top Brother Duo This Offseason

Deatrich Wise’s younger brother may be making his way to Foxboro.

Daniel Wise will enter the NFL Draft this spring and he has just wrapped up his NFL Combine. Having your brother in the league sure helps you go through the pre-draft process.

“He’s been helpful, my older brother,” Daniel said of Deatrich leading him through the NFL Combine. “Every step of the way, everything I need, everything I didn’t know I need, he’s given me advice on and we talked even a few minutes ago. He said just relax and enjoy the combine. The good, the bad, the ugly. It is what it’s going to be, but now all that stuff is over, and it’s time to bench and do some field work tomorrow, so I’m excited for that.”

Daniel somewhat shorter and bigger than his brother, but they still have some similarities. The passion for the game is one of them. Daniel said. “We have our differences, but we also play with the same aggression and passion.”

Deatrich was great in the first two season with the Patriots. In 2018, he totaled 30 tackles with 16 quarterback hits and 4.5 sacks in his 16 games with the team. He started five of them. When it comes to the playoffs, Deatrich totaled nine tackles, three quarterback hits and two sacks in four games.

Daniel played four seasons at Kansas and totaled 152 tackles and 17 sacks. In his senior season, the Wise brother was capped off with 34 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss and five sacks. At the NFL Combine, Wise ran a 5.28 40-yard dash, put up 22 reps on the bench and had 7.53 3 Cone Drill time.

“What better team to play for, so (Deatrich) says,” Daniel said of his chance to be drafted by the Patriots. “Obviously, he went to the Super Bowl two years in a row, got the ring this year. The Patriot Way, you know.”
