Photos: Julian Edelman Makes Appearance At Staples Center To Support Celtics

Staples Center was packed with Lakers’ supporting celebrities, but there was one particular person that got everyone’s attention. I bet fans did not even hope to see Patriots receiver Julian Edelman in the house. The California native was part of the crowd to watch the game between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Many would agree that Edelman came here to support the Boston Celtics and witness the renewed rivalry between the Celtics and Lakers. How do we know? He was sporting a green Celtics No. 11 tank top under a long-sleeved shirt. This was probably the one he was wearing before and it has his name written on the back. It is also possible that the tank top is an Irving replica because we couldn’t see the back.

Julian Edelman stopped to dap up a bunch of Celtics, including Kyrie and Tatum as team was going through layups lines. But Edelman sought out Celtics training and support staff, likely in appreciation of their help while he was suspended at start of the NFL season,” Chris Forsberg tweeted.

This is not the first time Edelman exresses his support for the Celtics. He likes the team and Kyrie Irving. They even share the same number on their respective teams. The receiver worked out with the Celtics during his four-game suspension at the beginning of the past season.

However, this affiliation extends further back. Edelman had some beer and crushed the can on the Jumbotron at the Celtics game on Halloween in 2015.

Fans were surprised to see him and many didn’t recognize him at first. Edelman doesn’t have his beard, remember? He had it shaven off on the Ellen show after the regular season. the receiver was dominant in the Super Bowl and earned the MVP. He had 10 catches for 141 yards.
