Watch: Anthony Davis Hints About His Future In HBO Promo

New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis tried to leave his current team. Lakers director of basketball operations Magic Johnson offered half of his team, but the Pelicans insisted on getting more players. The Lakers dropped the offer, and Davis stayed in New Orleans.

It may seem like a joke, but nobody actually realizes that Anthony Davis dictates his future. He requested a trade from the Pelicans, and never really showed that he is interested in joining any franchise other than the Lakers. Everything pointed to the fact that Davis wants to play somewhere else, but the player also said that he is interested in bringing the Pelicans  close to the playoffs.

Davis appeared in Friday’s episode of The Shop on HBO, and tried to make a few things straight. He does not want people to think that someone is dictating his future plans. No. Davis is actually in charge of his professional career, and he will never ever let anyone tell him what to do.

“I’m doing what I want to do and not what somebody tells me to do,” he said.

We don’t have much info on the context of this quote, and you will find out more after the episode releases on Friday. You can’t really tell if he is talking about something other than his basketball career.

Davis’s agent, Rich Paul, spoke about LeBron to Lee Jenkins of Sports Illustrated. In July, Paul said he “was just about doing what he wants to do.” Let’s not forget that LeBron hosts the show.

Both players were really careful while making the interview. We know that the final product will undergo a heavy editing, but that’s actually necessary if you take into consideration all the general managers who are trying to accuse LeBron of tampering. Is there any chance that Davis signs with the Lakers?
