Watch Julian Edelman, Kyrie Irving Embrace Before Celtics-Lakers Match

Patriots receiver Julian Edelman watched the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics at Staples Center, but something else caught everyone’s attention. Fans went crazy at the very same moment Edelman embraced Kyrie Irving.

What do these two have in common? They are both short and wear the same number. Irving has the No. 11 for the Boston Celtics, and Jules has the same number in New England. They are really successful int he postseason and respect each other. These are pretty much all the similarities Edelman and Irving have.

The Patriots receiver witnessed the Celtics’ win over LeBron James and his team. Edelman found himself in the middle of Lakers-supporting celebrities, but didn’t mind that at all. He was wearing his very own green top tank, and some say it had Irving’s name written on the back.

The embrace happened right before the game, and was a moment to remember. That’s how you know that two athletes respect each other.

Julian Edelman stopped to dap up a bunch of Celtics, including Kyrie and Tatum as team was going through layups lines. But Edelman sought out Celtics training and support staff, likely in appreciation of their help while he was suspended at start of the NFL season,” Chris Forsberg tweeted.

Edelman also met with Shaquille O’Neal, and media members couldn’t just ignore the difference in their height.

The Boston Celtics are ready for their next game Monday. They are playing the Los Angeles Clippers. The Lakers are also off to their next game, but they don’t really have luck this season and will probably miss the playoffs. But, basketball is such a mysterious game, and things can change drastically within a couple of weeks. Let’s see what happens next on the court. Is Edelman ready for another game in the arena?
