Tom Brady’s Dorky Tweet Draws Response From ‘Old Town Road’ Mastermind

One day you are a championship winner and the GOAT in NFL, and next day you are a rapper. Is this your perfect scenario? If yes, it’s time to tell you that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is on a good way to put down a verse. Just kidding. But, he sure knows how to give his fans a nice laugh, especially if it involves the “Old Town Road.”

The Internet craze reached the Patriots quarterback. His team posted a pic of him wearing a rancher hat. So, Brady couldn’t resist the urge to respond. “Do I need to put down a verse?” he responded. It may seem dorky to you, but Lil Nas X was super thrilled about Brady’s response.

“Let’s do it my g,” the 19-year-old wrote on Twitter.

The Old Town Road fever reached every corner in our country, but Billboard decided to take it down.

“Billboard offers category-specific charts simply as a tool for people in the music business to better gauge the success of songs relative to others in a given format. We are often times faced with difficult categorization choices,” the official statement read.

“Determining which chart a song lives on is an ongoing process that depends on a number of factors, most notably the song’s musical composition, but also how the song is marketed and promoted, the musical history of the artist, airplay the song receives and how the song is platformed on streaming services. Billboard welcomes the excitement created by genre-blending tracks such as Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” and will continue to monitor how it is marketed and how fans respond. Our initial decision to remove “Old Town Road” from the Hot Country Songs chart could be revisited as these factors evolve.”

If you ask Cyrus, it’s a piece of art.

“It was so obvious to me after hearing the song just one time,” Cyrus wrote. “I was thinking, what’s not country about it? What’s the rudimentary element of a country and western song? Then I thought, it’s honest, humble, and has an infectious hook, and a banjo. What the hell more do ya need?”
