Watch: Julian Edelman And Rob Gronkowski Throw First Pitch At Red Sox Game

Boston is the place to be these days as the New England Patriots celebrated their Super Bowl win once again. They did that during the Red Sox opener at Fenway Park on Tuesday.

The Super Bowl LIII champions received great honors during the Red Sox’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, Stephon Gilmore, Patrick Chung, Jason McCourty and Duron Harmon attended the event. Quarterback Tom Brady, team owner Robert Kraft and head coach Bill Belichick weren’t present.

Edelman, Gronk and Gilmore threw ceremonial first pitches. Steve Pearce, Mookie Betts and Jackie Bradley Jr. had the catching duties. If you ask those who attended the event, everyone would say that Gilmore threw the best pitch of the three Patriots.

Before the Patriots took the field, members of the 2018 Red Sox squad were presented with their World Series championship rings. The best part of the ceremony cam when the championship banner was raised in the center field.

The presence of the New England Patriots was announced few days ago.

“We’ve invited the Patriots and we’re ecstatic they’re going to be there. It’s going to be a great day,” said Red Sox president Sam Kennedy on Thursday.

“We have an exciting day coming up on Tuesday. It has been a tough start to the season, but we’re going to celebrate Boston championships on Tuesday. We’ve had a great tradition of celebrating and recognizing Boston teams and their championships, so we’re excited to be celebrating two championships that took place.”

Kennedy didn’t say much about the organization of the event, but it was more than obvious that they have something great on their mind. Seeing Gronk, Edelman, Gilmore and the others at the field was absolutely brilliant.

“We have to have some surprises,” Kennedy said. “But there will be a connection between past championship Red Sox teams and the present championship team.”

The New England Patriots are off to another Super Bowl win.  They won their sixth Lombardi Trophy in the Brady-Belichick era, and they don’t even think of stopping. Gronk left the team, but Tom Brady is here. That’s all that matters at the moment.
