LeBron Shows Support For DeMarcus Cousins After Quad Injury

LeBron James took to Twitter to express his support for DeMarcus Cousins after the Warriors star suffered a terrible quad injury.

This may be a surprise to the Lakers fanbase, but LeBron has personality, and he’s never ignore the urge to wish his rival a fast recovery.

Shams Charania was among the first to report on Cousins’ quad injury.

“Warriors All-Star DeMarcus Cousins has been diagnosed with a torn left quad, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium. Devastating for Cousins, who had MRI early this morning.”

“This is probably season-ending for Cousins, but he and the team will see how he responds within the first two weeks of rehab that is not expected to require surgery, sources said.”

We are already waiting for the pundits to start talking how LeBron is actually trying to recruit the player.

Cousins ruptured the left Achilles in January last year, and he was relatively healthy since returning to the floor this season. He finished the season averaging 16.3 points and 8.2 rebounds in 25.7 minutes per matchup.

This injury put an end to Cousins’ season. His teammates showed their support for Cousins.

“We’ll rally behind him, tell him it’s far from the end of the world, tell him he has so much great basketball ahead of him,” said Warriors guard Klay Thompson. “He believes that. … He’ll bounce back. I know he will. He’s a fighter.”

“It’s tough for sure, you feel for him considering all he’s been in this last year,” added Warriors guard Stephen Curry. “This is a big stage, the playoffs. He’s been looking forward to this. I don’t know the extent of the injury at this point but hope he gets back sooner than later. But just man to man in terms of him and what he’s been through, it’s tough. There’s no sugarcoating it. You hate seeing that opportunity on this big stage taken away from him like that.”

This is a rather serious situation for the player. Quad injuries are terrible. Cousins isn’t the only player to suffer a bad injury. LeBron James missed 17 games due to the groin injury he suffered on Christmas Day.
