their next opponent. Sources reveal the name of the Patriots’ opponent in Week
Everything points to the fact that New England will play the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1. Both teams are referred to as the “two winningest franchises” over the past twenty years. There are several reports confirming this possibility, suggesting that the Patriots will host the Steelers on Sunday Night Football when the league kicks off the 100th regular season. This is the third time Pittsburgh would face New England in Week 1 after a New England championship win. The Patriots started their 2001 and 2014 title defenses with wins over Pittsburgh.
The media leaked
several of the Patriots’ 2019 prime time games on Wednesday morning which is
less than 12 hours before the official release of the schedule for this season.
This is one of the
biggest rumors throughout the season. Peter King of Pro Football Talk was one
of the first names to discuss this possibility.
“Steelers? Could be,” King wrote while explaining his reasons to bring such conclusion.
