Warren Buffett Has Amazing Story Of Meeting LeBron For The First Time

LeBron James knows how to impress people, and billionaire investor Warren Buffett was amazed with him. LeBron was more than an athlete for him.

LeBron and Buffett first met a decade ago during the filming of a skit for Berkshire Hathaway’s annual meeting. Buffett wrote an article in honor of LeBron’s spot as one of Time’s 100 Most Influental People of 2019. In the video, Buffett beats LeBron at basketball, “so it was clearly a comedy,” Buffett wrote in Time.

“People in LeBron’s position get tugged in different directions and have a lot of chances to make bad decisions. He’s kept his head, and that’s not easy.”

“We had a good time, and since that day, I’ve been impressed with his leadership skills, his sharp mind and his ability to stay grounded,” Buffet writes.

“People in LeBron’s position get tugged in different directions and have a lot of chances to make bad decisions. He’s kept his head, and that’s not easy.”

This isn’t the first time Buffett complimented LeBron. He told USA Today that LeBron has a “money mind” and had words of praise for his business idea.

“He’s smart about business, but he’s just a smart guy,” Buffett said. “I noticed that the first time I met him… And you know he doesn’t miss anything.”

LeBron feels the same way for Buffett. In 2014, he instagramed a photo of Warren and himself at a Cavaliers game, decorating it with the caption, “Always good having u in town and seeing u Uncle Warren!”

Over the years, the friendship between these two became even stronger.

“It’s unique. Very unique,” James told Cleveland.com about the relationship. “Our relationship continues to grow and grow and grow.”

Buffet wrote that LeBron earned the respect he got from his fans, and it’s based on his skills and success in Hollywood. Founding the I Promise School in Akron, Ohio, was the best move LeBron made.

“As great as he has been so far — on and off the court — you’re just seeing the start of LeBron,” Buffet writes.
