LeBron Insider Reveals Perfect Candidate To Replace Magic Johnson

Magic Johnson resigned from his position in the Los Angeles Lakers, and LeBron James has the ultimate candidate to replace Johnson.

Magic Johnson surprised everyone at the very same moment he decided to resign from his position in the Lakers front office. The Los Angeles Lakers will have to look for a replacement, and there are a few names popping out. The team will also have to find a head coach and another All-Star.

It seems like there is one particular candidate that fits well in Johnson’s position.

Brian Windhorst says that Los Angeles needs to make an approach and hire former Cleveland Cavaliers General Manager David Griffin.

Lakers owner Jeanie Buss didn’t even think of Johnson’s resignation. He caught everyone off guard. Johnson picked the impromptu press conference as a perfect opportunity to announce his resignation. He talked about the reasons that led to this decision. Johnson didn’t want to fire Luke Walton and really cared about his relationship with Buss.

The Lakers entered their offseason with high hopes. They need to land the right players for their team, and Buss will have to make a few other decisions. If the team manages to get the right person, the Lakers could experience some awesome changes. Warriors’ Bob Myers and Spurs’ RC Buford are some of the names we heard.

Windhorst has a new book on King James, and he says that Griffin is the right choice for the Lakersu

“Woj [Adrian Wojnarowski] mentioned RC Buford and Bob Myers, they should absolutely check in with those guys,” he said on ESPN’s Get Up! “They should check in with Masai Ujiri at the Toronto Raptors; they should check in with Tim Connelly with the Denver Nuggets. The top of the absolute cream of the crop, they should see if they can get them. They have money and it’s a desirable job.

“They also need to call David Griffin. David Griffin is in a unique position here. One, he has a relationship with LeBron James – won a championship with him in Cleveland. Two, he has a relationship with Luke Walton. Luke Walton, people may forget, played in Cleveland for a year-and-a-half when David Griffin was there. They have a positive relationship and David Griffin knows how to deal with complex situations.”
