Report: New Update Emerges On Robert Kraft’s SPA Video

Patriots owner Robert Kraft won another battle in his case, but there’s still a lot to go until he wins the war. Will the spa video see the light of the day at some point in near future? Will the judge approve its release?

The judge has granted a protective order that keeps the spa video safe for now. According to court documents, the judge agreed with Kraft’s legal team that the release of the surveillance video to the public would affect his right to a fair trial. In other words, the video won’t go public until the case is over, regardless of whether it would happen as a result of a plea agreement or prosecutors dropping charges. The video may be released once the trial jury is sworn in for the case.

This order is sort of a big win for the Patriots owner. Prosecutors can’t use the release of the video as leverage to force Kraft to agree to a plea deal. Of course, this doesn’t mean that Kraft won the case. He will have to wait before celebrating his win.

There will be another hearing on Friday. The judge will make a final decision regarding the release of the evidence related to this case, including the controversial spa video. Tuesday’s order is actually a confirmation that the judge has reserved his right to reconsider his decision after Friday’s hearing.

Prosecutors tried really hard to get this video out. “As the custodian of the records, (prosecutors) cannot delay the release of records to allow a person to raise a constitutional challenge to the release of the documents,’’ Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg’s office wrote in court papers. “The Public Records Act does not allow a custodian to delay the production of records to allow the resolution of a constitutional challenge to the release of the documents.”

This case is taking a completely different direction that expected, and both sides struggle to win it. The release of this video will damage Kraft’s reputation to an almost irreversible extent which is why his lawyers try to block it. Let’s see what happens next.
