A Trade Proposal That Could Finally Pair Anthony Davis with LeBron James

The Los Angeles Lakers couldn’t land Anthony Davis, but it seems like there’s a big possibility that Davis and LeBron James team up in a different team.

The Boston Celtics.

The Los Angeles Lakers are finishing their season with the resignation of Magic Johnson and Luke Walton. The team had LeBron James and a bunch of young talents, and they still played terribly. LeBron’s groin injury and the Anthony Davis rumors acted like catalyst this season. Everything went down the hill after Christmas Day.

Lakers owner Jeanie Buss came up with the idea of traiding LeBron, and his value is now a lot lower than before.

“He’s not good enough anymore to take four cadavers and get to the Finals,” an anonymous GM told Bleacher Report’s Ric Bucher. “Not in the West.”

Will the Lakers agree to a trade of LeBron James? The Celtics seem ready to do a league-shifting blockbuster.

Kyrie Irving wasn’t really happy with his younger teammates which is why he apologized to LeBron for his attitude in Cleveland. If you add Irving’s problems to the Anthony Davis problem, you get some nice trade ideas, right?

The Pelicans would get Marcus Smart, Jayson Tatum, Robert Williams III, Sacramento Kings’ 2019 first-round pick (from Boston), Los Angeles Clippers’ 2019 first-round pick (from Boston), Boston Celtics’ 2022 first-round pick.

The Celtics would get Anthony Davis and LeBron James.

The Lakers will get  Jaylen Brown, Al Horford, Memphis Grizzlies’ 2019 first-round pick (from Boston, top-six protected), Boston Celtics’ 2019 first-round pick.

The Pelicans were tied to Tatum for too long. The forward sort of acknowledged the rumors himself. “Yeah, I’d trade me too for Anthony Davis,” he said.

Tatum and Smart may join Jrue Holiday and create a dynamic defensive backcourt.

The Pelicans can use the first-round picks to get young talent late in the lottery and in the early 20s. Oregon’s Bol Bol and Virginia Tech’s Nickeil Alexander-Walker are two of the names that pop out.

The Celtics may also go all-in in this case.

LeBron performs at great level, and he is the only player averaging 27.4 points, 8.3 assists, and 8.5 rebounds per game.
