Dwyane Wade Makes Bold Statement On LeBron’s Playing Level

Lakers star LeBron James will miss the playoffs for the first time since his 2004-2005 season with the Cleveland Cavaliers. This marks an end to his brilliant streak. He received MVP votes in all of his seasons in the NBA, but that won’t happen this year. Some say he will fall out of the running entirely this year. Dwyane Wade has something to say about this.

According to Wade, LeBron still plays at an MVP level. Nothing has changed.

“LeBron’s not a guy that is accustom to losing and not making the playoffs,” Wade told Shams Charania of The Athletic. “Obviously, man, those 18 games that he was out hurt with them, it’s kind of a wash. You can’t even really talk about him not making the playoffs, because of that. They was the fourth seed when he went out. It’s unfortunate.

People are trying to attack him a lot from the standpoint of age. It’s no secret that he’s getting older, he’s going to get older every year. It’s no doubt that you’re not the same person you was, but he’s still great. If this is a bad year for him — this is a bad year for him? MVP’s get this kind of year. He’s had an MVP-type of year. I think he understands the scrutiny that comes with being LeBron James. Whether he comes out and talks about it or not, he’s driven by something different. That’s why he’s so great. He helps ratings for TV. He knows that. It doesn’t stop nothing. He continues to approach the game the way he approaches it.”

Even if LeBron stayed on the court for the remainder of the season, he didn’t have any great chance at being named the NBA MVP.

James Harden has great numbers so far. His 32.2 points sure mean a thing, and LeBron can’t beat that. Giannis Antetokounmpo doesn’t have good numbers, but has amazing offense which may give him the big award. LeBron can’t brag about his defense, and didn’t even try to deny that.

When compared to previous MVP winners, LeBron averages 27 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Only five NBA players did that in a single season.
