Julian Edelman Celebrates Passover Day With Emotional Instagram Post

“Passover is a special holiday for the Jewish people. It’s a holiday that celebrates liberty and the pursuit of a better life. That’s a very American sentiment. No matter what your situation is, you can always fight for a better outcome.
“‘If you will it, it is no dream,’” Edelman wrote on Instagram.

Many would agree that Edelman is the best Jewish football player.

“Is Julian Edelman not a Hall of Famer?” Esiason, a former NFL quarterback, asked on a Boston radio show last week. “The guy is clutch in the biggest of games. I don’t know what else to tell you. He is, in my eyes, truly the definition of a Hall of Famer: Make the play when the play needs to be made in the biggest games to win the game.”

Julian Edelman was ranked behind Hall of Famers Sid Luckman, Ron Mix and Benny Friedman on the American Jewish Historical Society List of the 10 best Jewish football players.

Edelman’s trip to Israel was well documented, and he travelled with representatives of the Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Boston and a grouop of Boston-area young adults. The Patriots wideout made the most of his first visit, and did pretty much everything you can do in Israel. He prayed with tefillin and tossed pigskin with members of Israel’s national football team. The whole trip was captured in a video, and it was amazing.

Edelman and his sister Nicole were in the first group of passengers to try the new direct flight from Boston’s Logan International Airport to Israel in the summer of 2015.

We can’t forget Edelman’s matzah ball tweet. Edelman knows how to make the most comedic videos of himself. Have you ever noticed that his brand logo JE11, the combo of his initials and jersey number, is actually the same as the word “Jew.” In April 2015, Julian posted an image of himself while trying to catch a piece of matzah. That was his way of celebrating Passover Day.

In the game against the Denver Broncos in November 2014, the wideout wore a pin on his hat iwth the US and Israeli flags. This pin was a gift from the Israel’s then-ambassador to the United Nations, Ron Prosor.
