Julian Edelman Has Enticing Offer For Red Sox After Throwing Out First Pitch

The New England Patriots attended the Red Sox opener, and Julian Edelman threw the first pitch. He was one of the three Patriots players to throw out the first pitch prior to the home opener against the Toronto Blue Jays.

He did a really good job, and took to Instagram to make a nice offer.

“Who needs some help in the bullpen? Hit me up,” Edelman wrote.

Edelman was brilliant in the Super Bowl. The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman shares the same opinion.

Julian is strong as s—. Some of these guys are 5-10, 190 and are thin-boned. You can push them around. They’re good 7-on-7 guys. He can block, can break a tackle and pound-for-pound is very strong. The guy’s toughness and competitiveness is in the one percent of people in the NFL. He is rare. He’s an absolute pit bull. Welker and (Danny) Amendola weren’t as physical. He’s a lot stronger. He’s so f—ing tough.

If you ask him to go inside and crack on (linebacker) C.J. Mosley. He’s thinking, I’ll go in there and knock the s— out of him. (Braxton) Berrios will try it and be a bug on a windshield.”

Edelman is gratefull for all the opportunities he was given this year.

“To get to be able to [win the Super Bowl] three times, it’s an absolute blessing and I’m very fortunate,” he said of his opportunities and the championship win. “It’s a lot of hard work, determination and sacrifice to put yourself in a position to get that opportunity. It was pretty cool to get the MVP, but more importantly, it was just cool to get that win.

“Coming off the knee [injury] and coming off adversity that I had to deal with, it obviously sweetened the pot a little,” Edelman said. “Being the last one with [tight end Rob Gronkowski, who announced his retirement following the season], in hindsight now, that will be something that I’ll always remember, and just the ebbs and flows of the season. Everyone picked everyone else but us the whole year … it made it pretty sweet. They’re like children — you don’t love any one more than the others — but it definitely felt great to have that.”
