Martellus Bennett Rightfully Rips Steelers Over Draft Pick Stupidity

What’s your opinion on people who believe they are more badass than they really are? Devin Bush is a person who isn’t even aware that the world laughs at him. He is probably convinced that everyone is laughing with him. The talented linebacker was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers, and instead of building a name, he decided to waste it. Former Patriots tight end Martellus Bennett wasn’t buying any of that.

Back in October, Bush was busy throwing a hissy fit at midfield before his team squared off with in-state rival Michigan State.

That was in no way cool, funny or interesting. It’s weird and awkward, so let’s just hope that other players won’t follow his example.

“This isn’t grit. It’s stupidity. And a waste of energy,” Bennett wrote.

Bennett was involved in several stories this offseason, and the Patriots nation hoped to see him back on the field. But, no, he isn’t coming back. He is happy with his current situation and the way his life develops.

“This is why I can’t come out of retirement,” Bennett wrote on Instagram, adding several photos of children with his book Dear Black Boy. “I would love to play ball with my brother. It would truly be a dream come true. But, my biggest dream is to change lives with my creativity and that is what I am currently doing [at the Imagination Agency]. These kids don’t need another athlete to look up to or to aspire to be. There’s plenty of inspiration out there for that.

“I want to inspire the next wave of creatives. The storytellers. The engineers. The designers. The doctors. The filmmakers. The composers. Tech moguls. And maybe a few athletes who, like me, never felt like they belonged in a locker room. I was never one of the guys guys — most of my teammates would tell that. I’ve always been a creative [mind], who enjoyed competing. I’m playing the game that I was made to play and it’s the most fun I’ve ever had. Scoring touchdowns, winning a Super Bowl has never made me feel the way seeing kids/families/people enjoying things I have created.”
