Monster Trade That Could Bring LeBron James And Anthony Davis To Celtics

The Los Angeles Lakers know how to get people talking. First, they signed LeBron James, and then missed the playoffs. Head coach Luke Walton and Magic Johnson resigned from his position. What’s next? Losing LeBron? Well, there’s a likely scenario that ships LeBron to the Boston Celtics. Pundits say that’s the only way for him to team up with Anthony Davis.

Bleacher Report’s Preston Ellis believes that LeBron and Davis can sign with the Celtics.

“The deal wouldn’t come without a degree of difficulty,” Ellis wrote. “James and his camp possess arguably more power than any current athlete and could look to stonewall a potential deal. But terms under the collective bargaining agreement kept him from earning a no-trade clause, and his maximum salary makes his 15 percent trade kicker less of a power play. On paper, the Celtics seem likely to jump on a potential league-shifting blockbuster.

Kyrie Irving‘s discontent with the young players on the Boston Celtics roster has made headlines, and everyone remembers the parallel he drewto his time with James in Cleveland. Add the Irving situation to the Anthony Davis speculation, and we’ve got a partner that should be more than willing to unload everything possible in pursuit of both superstars.”

So, the Pelicans would get  Marcus Smart, Jayson Tatum, Robert Williams III, Sacramento Kings’ 2019 first-round pick (from Boston), Los Angeles’ 2019 first-round pick (from Boston), and Boston Celtics’ 2022 first-round pick.

The Celtics would get Davis and LeBron, and the Lakers would get Jaylen Brown, Al Horford, Memphis Grizzlies’ 2019 first-round pick (from Boston, top-six protected), and Boston Celtics’ 2019 first-round pick.

Ric Bucher has a very specific opinion about this? But, is this scenario the best deal for the Lakers?

“Like, I’m not blown away. If LeBron and AD get together, that doesn’t scare me. One, because, if you’re talking about playing for titles, you need a lot more than that, so if you’re going to get him in the short term, if you’re going to get him for next year, it means you’re gonna have to give up some of the assets, some of the players, some of the talent you have right now, okay? That talent isn’t all that great, but even so, how are you going to replace it? Where are you going to get the replacement pieces?”
