Patriots Hosting Speedy Wide Receiver Prospect On Pre-Draft Visit

The New England Patriots will be looking for new players this offseason, and it seems like they have hosted a wide receiver prospect.

Georgia wide receiver Mecole Hardman revealed his visit with the Patriots, but the Instagram story is now deleted.

Patriots running back Sony Michel is a fellow Georgia alum. Hardman and Michael played on the same team in 2016 and 2017.

Hardman is a third-round prospect in the 2019 NFL Draft. He had a  4.33-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine at 5-foot-10, 187 pounds.

Hardman was able to catch 35 passes for 543 yards with seven touchdowns in 2018. He had five carries for 36 yards, 16 punt returns for 321 yards with a touchdowns and 14 kick returns for 353 yards.

New England is looking for a wide receiver in the 2019 NFL Draft which is scheduled to take place from April 25 to 27. The Patriots need more depth at wide receiver spot, and they rely on Julian Edelman, Phillip Dorsett, Bruce Ellington, Maurice Harris, Braxton Berrios, Damoun Patterson, Matthew Slater and suspended wideout Josh Gordon at the moment.

Will Josh Gordon ever return with the Patriots?

“I think I said this a couple months ago,” NFL Comissioner Roger Goodell said when asked if Gordon will come back. “The first thing right now is the focus on Josh himself as a young man and what he needs to do to get his life on the right track. That’s what our focus is. We have resources supporting that. That’s our hope, to make sure he gets on the right track. Once he gets on the right track, we’ll get to that place. I think right now, he’s had a complete focus on, ‘I’ve got to keep myself off the field in the right place before I can get back on the field.’”

New England has signed a few new players, and they are off to signing a few more. Head coach Bill Belichick is looking forward to sign the best players. The team won the sixth Lombardi Trophy in the Brady-Belichick era, and we have a few great reasons to say that they will win the next one.
