Ric Bucher Has Bombshell Theory On LeBron-Davis Duo

Signing Pelicans star Anthony Davis would save the Los Angeles Lakers from so much trouble next season. The Lakers have already tried to land the star, but Magic Johnson didn’t have much luck in the process. He offered almost every young Laker, but the Pelicans turned down his offer. So, Johnson is now retired, and the Lakers will probably try again. But, it’s definitely strange that the team was willing to give up on nearly half their roster to get Davis. Are they going all-in again? The young players won’t like that at all. The rumors affected the relationship in the locker room which was one of the problems that pushed the Lakers out of the playoff picture.

Are there any flaws in the Lakers plans? Here’s what Bleacher Report’s Ric Bucher has to say about it.

“Like, I’m not blown away. If LeBron and AD get together, that doesn’t scare me. One, because, if you’re talking about playing for titles, you need a lot more than that, so if you’re going to get him in the short term, if you’re going to get him for next year, it means you’re gonna have to give up some of the assets, some of the players, some of the talent you have right now, okay? That talent isn’t all that great, but even so, how are you going to replace it? Where are you going to get the replacement pieces?”

Los Angeles will be obliged to give up on all the players to ink a deal with Anthony Davis and the Pelicans. The only thing they will be left with is Anthony Davis and LeBron James. Is that enough? These two are great players, but the young Lakers had their role on the floor, and did a really good job for the team. So, giving up on them is not such a good idea. Let’s not forget that LeBron is getting old.

Davis may be good, but he alone won’t be enough to turn the Lakers into contenders. Jeanie Buss will have to play smart this time. She has to take care of the head coach position, and hire a new director of basketball operations.
